R&B Jam Track 100bpm Am7 to D7 10 MINUTES with LIVE PLAY THROUGH | Tom Strahle | Pro Guitar Secrets
Просмотров 4762 месяца назад
#jamtrack #fendertelecaster #practicetrack #randb Back in the day when I would make jam tracks for myself on my Realistic cassette recorder I would get impatient and stop after just a few short minutes. Leading to frustration when it came time to practice soloing over the track. Just when I was getting into the zone or tarting to develop and idea the track would end. That's why I made this one ...

FUN with the DROP D tuning | Tom Strahle | PRO GUITAR SECRETS
I play upside down, like Eric gales, so when I play in open tuning like this and open D it’s incredibly easy since I only need to bar, like a normal player would play a major chord rooted on the A string.
Such a beautiful instrument
I broke my octave G!
Really insightful
I always enjoy your lessons Tom!
I tuned my Alvarez dreadnought for the first time to open D two days ago, and am completely in love. I feel like it's a gift for my songwriting process and voice. The notes create such beautiful harmony and it's so easy to go any direction with subtle chord changes and have it still sound good. Thanks for making this video.
One can keep lying to oneself, like I like to do as well, but the 57 eats them all. …especially for the price.
Hello there my question do you think reading music is way more valuable and productive for your musical improvment than just play by ear
Both are valuable skills to possess. A good ear will get you out of tricky situations and help you improvise. Reading ability will help you eliminate a lot of competition if you are thinking of going pro.
I forgot it was Monday, I will catch the replay.
Answered ALL my questions about this little gadget.
That was very inspirational for a 68 year old that needed YOU for a shout. ( to get the lead out ) 😁😎
This sound track for Fuse is just perfect! I remember hearing it for the first time when it was season 8 and I had goosebumps the whole time and currently trying to learn the song overall. The Gibson SG is a fantastic fit for the more distorted parts and for those fender sounding cleans. Thank you for creating this absolute beaut of a song on your parts 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Julian Bream (whose hands were not big) once said that Django’s (a hero of his) facility was so good because he “had fewer fingers to get in the way”..!
Well no not bluegrass ,rock licks you need to listen to bluegrass
I am almost 64yo, I have a spinal cord injury and my hand / fingers don't work as well as they used to. I recently got a guitar and I'm going to do this!!!!
How come older is younger than old 🤔
How about wrist relaxation when you're strumming? How does that work??
WOW IM 65 and just starting…..🙄you 80+ yr olds are MY HEROS❤️
OMGOSH to the 87 yr old just learning YOUR AWSOME👍
I learned this tuning before anything else because i love John Butler and he uses this on many songs, including Ocean. It's mind-blowing how beautiful it is.... It's more of a finger picking song, but there are parts with strumming that also sound ridiculously cool. It's in the key of E with a capo, but that doesn't really matter. I recommend EVERYONE to try this tuning and especially to give Ocean a shot. You will unlock unimaginable beauty from beneath your fingertips!
lol killer exercise, literaly
I am surprised that there really is a distinct sound from each pick!
I'm always on for the live but not chatting. This one has been a great challenge and fun turning and aa always excellently explained.
Great stuff!
Always enjoy the time you give to us that appreciate your gifts and talents 👌
I believe in Music Jesus and Rock&Roll I'm 71 years of Age and the and my secret is to never give up Learning Guitar if you love MUSIC
I get the same tone when I place the capo in the wrong position. You're welcome! I just saved you $10 + shipping. 😉
Good to know
Thanks I can't wait to here more. I'm 72 already can play a few songs . Only been playing for 3 months. Was a drummer all my lifr
The guitar is a 1965 Gibson Folksinger BTW. It's missing the lower pick guard. It originally came with two, an upper and a lower probably because (say it with a crotchety old man voice) "these kids today are using these things called plectrums and scratching up the top of the guitar. So let's glue two big pieces of plastic on the top to protect it."

Isn't ope G a lithe to high for a guitar like this?
You'll speak more then what you'll teach damn waste of time
I'm 60 and playing since I was 10 years old. Many guitars thru the years. I put it down for months and pick it up and play for a while and go thru all the favorites. Just like riding a bike!
Could you say what gauge of strings you are using there?
Standard light set. Elixir 10-46.
@@TomStrahle Thanks
Nice piece, i am thinking about buying one. God bless
Great tips. Just be patient and realize the first 6 months you're not going to sound good. Stick with it. Lauren Bateman on youtube specializes on us older folks & extreme beginners. I would then switch to Justin Guitar.
Great explanation as it includes the notes in each chord, really connects the fretboard.
How can I get the signal louder when fingerpicking with an sm57? My preamp is all the way up and it’s reaching like -12 to -16db. I just know the my focusrite isn’t in the green. And when I turn it up in my DAW there’s too much noise.
Seeker, with a capital "W." 😁✌💗🤘
I love thay even though it is basic math, that you give the BPM for the speed changes. That is awesome and appreciated!
Would love to hear you play & sing worship! Your playing so very anointed.
Great tips I'm actually teaching my 13 year old next door neighbor and can use some of your tips.
Take "most" out of your title :) I've only done DADGAD for a couple of years and play everything from pop to classical. It's a very rich sounding tuning because of 3 Ds and 2 As. I've found it easier than D major because of the F# to G area.
@16:35 "I bought my first real six string, over at the five and dime."
Thank you Tom for these tutorials.
Thanks for these Dadgad tutorials, I have played for decades in this tuning but always learn a lot from you.
You have so many videos, where do we start? Is there an order we should watch them?
Funny you should ask, I am in the very early stages of putting together a beginner course that will be progressive. It's going to take a while. Stay tuned.
@@TomStrahle ok thx, I will!
I am 70 years old and just started learning guitar! I like your sense of humor! And hopefully I won’t seek counseling! LOL
first progression you played is very ed sheeran photograph
Dang you're right. I missed that.
@@TomStrahle i remember learning it for my daughter when it first came out many years ago so as soon as you played the sequence it brought it back to me right away
